I am a Christian, wife, and PhD student in Applied Mathematics at the University of South Carolina. In April of 2011 my husband and I moved from Columbia SC, USA to Beijing China.  It was a big leap of faith, and we are loving the adventure.  To see more about our adventures in China, check out our blog at www.pekingpuck.blogspot.com.
I became a Christian when I was 8 years old, and I have been growing in my faith ever since.  My goal is to be a better person each day, than I was before.  I attend a small church of foreign passport holders in Beijing.  God has stripped me of myself and old identity, and He is now molding me into the mature Christian He desires.
Jason Diefenthaler and I were married June 10, 2006 in the beautiful mountains of West Virginia on my family's land.  Also in 2006, I received my BS in Applied Mathematics from Coastal Carolina University.  I am now at USC working towards my PhD.  I have completed all of the exams and coursework.  All that remains is the dissertation.  It is hard enough to research at the university, and it is exponentially more difficult from China.  To follow my research progress go to the Research tab.
While in Beijing, I found a wonderful job opportunity teaching AP Calculus to Chinese students who plan to attend a US university. These students were a pleasure to teach.  You can see my course materials at HSACNU
